About

In October 2017, I turned 59.

I once thought I’d be close to the end of the road. I’d have nearly completed a career, be a mother to a beautiful family and would be contemplating a quiet retirement. (That’s actually a bit of a lie – when I was young, I don’t think retirement ever crossed my mind.)

That’s radically not what happened.

Instead, I’m on my third career, serially married, no kids and – at almost 60 years old – am building a new business. My health is an ongoing challenge. I’m overweight and tired, yet I find my work thrilling.

Up until now, I’d been telling myself that I need to let go. No one will listen to a 60 year old woman talk about communications, particularly in a world in which millennial digital natives are thought to hold the sacred social media formula to communicating with anyone.

Yet, people still come to me for advice. They use it and, at times, even declare it life-changing. Which begs the question, “Am I really done?”

That’s what I intend to explore here.
